I am seeing Blue in a week and a half; hopefully I'll enjoy it more than you did. But 1 in 5 actually seems like a decent hit rate for new work.

Oof, Jeremy, this NTT...

Well, I'm guessing from the clue that this is probably an opera composer. Longtime followers of CGF will certainly be aware of the Verdi quartet and Puccini's "Crisantemi". This isn't (I don't THINK) either of them.

Strikes me as later 19th century harmonically, but it's awfully weird from a textural perspective, so maybe we're pushing into the 20th. I'm going to go in with some lesser-known Italians: Mascagni, Leoncavallo, and ... oh, to change it up, Rimsky-Korsakov.
